We recognize and appreciate the unique spiritual and communal needs of the Military, Veterans, and First Responders who serve or have served as their vocational call to duty. Our CORE focus on Communication, Outreach, Recognition, and Engagement ensures that all members of Saint Anne are aware of ongoing activities and needs of this ministry, and that a variety of opportunities are provided to strengthen ties between the warrior and non-warrior members of the congregation. This includes a “Who is This?” Challenge to identify the warriors in our midst in a fun, thought-provoking way.
In addition, we partner with Warrior Spirit Project, a 501(c)(3) charity that was founded by three Saint Anne members. Through this partnership, we provide unique opportunities for warriors to connect with each other and to seek spiritual healing from trauma, addiction, survivor’s guilt, grief, or moral injury. Operation Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step program facilitated by a veteran who is also successfully in recovery. We established a Healing Space that provides a place for grounding and growth through weekly trauma-informed yoga and Integrative Restoration (iRest) meditation sessions. Just outside the room, there is an information resource area and an Honor Board displayed to recognize and re-member warriors in our Saint Anne community. Twice a year, we host family-oriented social gatherings, including a Warrior Picnic with food, fun, and fellowship. And underlying all the activities of the ministry is prayer. Each week, a group of Prayer Warriors receives the name of a veter-n or first responder to pray for throughout the week.
The Warrior Ministry welcomes all warriors – military, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel. We are a safe place to share, to heal, and to grow. Our “Soul Mission” is to listen without judgment, to encourage and support, to build community, and to facilitate post-traumatic growth.
